I have an assignment this week to write a photo essay about what I love about home. I figured I might as well share it here as well, so here you go!
I live in a gorgeous city. It's known for it's rain and dreariness, but the pretty days that we do have are incredible. I love living in a place where I can praise the Lord for his beautiful creation.
I love how there are so many bodies of water around the area. It supplies some of the best seafood in the world and is, again, so gorgeous.
Something Seattle is most famous for is their coffee. As the birthplace of Starbucks, Tullys, and Seattle's Best Coffee, the city has 10 times more coffee shops than the average city in America. They are all over the place and it is the best. My sister Kirsten and I went to Victor's coffee in Redmond yesterday to work on addressing support letters. They roast their own coffee on site and it is so good. I mean just look at it. Yum. If you look really close, you can see their roasting room in the back.
We went to see Oklahoma at the 5th Avenue Theater on Saturday. We decided to go to Vietnamese food beforehand. I love how many different options there are for food around here. You could probably pick any region on earth and you'd be able to find a restaurant with their food in Seattle. There are so many different cultures represented here. Below is my beautiful (and pregnant!!!) sister Sarah at the restaurant.
I think the thing I love most about living here is the people in my life. As you can probably tell, my sisters and I are pretty close and it's so great to be able to hang out with them whenever I want. I'm glad to be able to have such a close community within my church. Some of the people in the college-age ministry at church have come to be some of my closest friends and it's incredible to watch the work that the Lord is doing there.
I've been so blessed to be able to call this place home. I'll miss it like crazy, but I'm so excited for everything the Lord has in store for this next season of life.
